Baby Chevron / Zig Zag Blanket
Learn how to make this beautiful Baby Caron Zig Zag Blanket. It is really simple to follow and I have provided details for you to be successful.
In the video tutorial, I have presented a rough note diagram that I used. There is a copy of that diagram if you wish to download it or print it for yourself.
I will take you through this in the video tutorial.
What I cannot answer for you is how much yarn you will need. If you are customizing your afghan, you will have to make that determination for you.
- Use any hook size you wish, as long as it compliments the yarn.
- Use any yarn you wish. I am using Bernat L’il Tots in my demonstrations.
I am referencing a free pattern, it is called Zig Zag Baby Blanket.
Sizing
- Each multiple is made up of 25 chains.
- At the end of the chain, add 5 stitches.
- For the exact same baby blanket size, you are to chain 180 to start with as it says on the pattern. That will make you’re afghan about 32″ wide.
- Using Bernat L’il Tots with Size 5.5 mm or I Crochet Hook. Each Chevron is about 5.5″ wide.
- For the Baby Blanket using Bernat L’il Tots, you will need about 10 balls to complete as written but, of course, you can change out your hook size or yarns to suit your own personal taste.

Hi, Mickey, for the Crochet Baby Zig Zag Blanket, if I change the stitch to dc or tr, should anything in the original pattern change too? I hope you can help me. I am making a medium size blanket for an adult to use during treatments in the hospital. Thank you 🙂
When the pattern says to “carry” the old color…do you cut the yarn but drag a piece that stitches in? Like the C2C pattern? Or do you seriously never cut the yarn and have to drag 3 balls at once? I’m a bit of a newbie just trying to figure this out before I take it on vacation with me.

Another thing is by putting on those sides to finish it off it makes the person not lose the count. Because when we usually do crochet we chain up then skip the very first crochet so this would mess up my count so your tip about doing the ends to look more finished cuts that out. I wrote a previous comment telling you what great videos you have. Well you did it again I have been crocheting for 57 years. I thought I could read any pattern. I had trouble with Cheveron or ripple . Your video telling us to make sure we had the 11 on the the side was ingenious. I finally got it. I was always trying to count every stitch. I would end up with one end to long and the other end to short. I also love your trick of making the ends look finished anyway I finally got it yeah. I am making a dish cloth to practice with singles 3 rows half double and 3 rows doubles . Thank you thank you. friend3951
Can i make these separate,and sew them together?

Is it possible to do this pattern with a foundation single crochet and not a chain? And if so how?
