Adult Sun Bucket Hat – Same Stitching

Hello, I’m working on the 3 month size of this hat and I’m stuck on the first round of the brim. The pattern shows it increasing from 48 to 60 and the math doesn’t work out to do that. I end up with 54, (9 groupings of 1 sc in next 4 sts and 2 SC in next st), plus 3 following that for a total of 57. I drew it out and still don’t understand how you get to 60. The math works out for this row for the newborn size but not for the 3 month size. Is there a problem with my crocheting or the pattern?
I will double-check it’s most likely me. I will follow up later this week. I have to recrochet this again to check my work.
