1. Hello Crochet Crowd, This pattern is fantastic and your tutorials are spot on. I’ve been waiting for a baby to celebrate and now we have two on the way! But, I’m finding that the Bernat Baby Crushed Velvet is no longer available, even at Yarnspirations. Is Bernat Baby Velvet (same gauge, weight and length) a suitable substitute? They look nearly identical. Thank you for the help!

   1. Yes, both Baby Crushed and Baby Velvet are the same in gauge and weight. They are just an extension brand. Meaning, same yarn, different colouring.

   Just wanted to let you know I did as you suggested and sent corrections to Yarnspirations, which were sent to the design team and I just got a copy of the completely revised written pattern! Not sure when they will release the corrected version – but they included all the corrections I found plus one more!! This month’s Crochet World has several mosaic patterns plus 2 articles on how to do mosaic crochet. Can’t wait to get started!!

      1. I am unaware that the pattern that was issued is still wrong. It was originally wrong when it first launched, it’s since been corrected and is the current one being offered as a download. Where are the errors are you speaking of. Please email me at [email protected] 🙂 Michael

3. Getting ready to start the mosaic baby blanket. I see the remarks about error in pattern. Has this been corrected.
   I prefer the graph – is it corrects anyone using another yarn than the crushed velvet if so how many balls

   1. Yes, it’s been corrected.

      1. Mikey on row 7 it says to rep from * to end of row but there is no astrick of where the pattern begins to repeat. Is it at the 1dc in next skipped sc3 rows below or the ch2?

      2. 7th row: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sts. 1 dc in next skipped sc 3 rows below. *Ch 2. Skip next st. 1 sc in each of next 3 sts. Ch 2. Skip next st. 1 dc in next skipped sc 3 rows below. 1 sc in each of next 3 sts. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.

         I believe it starts at the Ch 2. I have highlighted the asterisk.

4. I really like the pattern,But lot of errors,row 5,7,8,12,is there a 14.
   I am Intermediate crochet and knitter. I had a hard time with this pattern.

   1. Really? I don’t see that. Have you emailed Yarnspirations your suggestions and list of issues you are having with this pattern?

   There are actually several other errors & omissions in the pattern, but a big one is that Row 8 written directions do not match what the chart shows. also: are Yarnspiration’s charts now going to read left to right for row 1 or will that be fixed for this pattern?

   1. I have to check into your thoughts here. I can see what you are saying about Row 8. Have you contacted Yarnspirations already?

7. Mikey, will you be doing a video on how to do the Mosaic crochet baby blanket. I was able to get through row four with your tutorial with Michaels online class. But row 5 has thrown me for a loop.

   1. the only one that has a tutorial so far is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNWZ6OO-FNM for baby blankets that I have seen. what is tripping you up, I can try to help.

      1. 5th row: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in first st. *1 dc in each of next 2 skipped sc 3 rows below. Ch 2. Skip next st. 1 sc in each of next 5 sts. Ch 2. Skip next st. 1 dc in next skipped sc 3 rows below. Rep from * to last 3 sts. 1 dc in next skipped sc 3 rows below. 1 sc in last st. Turn.

         The above is the directions for row 5 – so when it says 1 dc in each of next 2 skipped sc 3 rows below. Do I put 2 double crochet in that four chain space and sk next st and do 1 sc in next 5 stitches and then repeat?

8. I wanted the above instructions for the mosaic baby blanket but no instructions /link are given. Where can I find it.

   1. The pattern is releasing this coming week. There was an error in the pattern and instead of pushing out the pattern with the error, it’s being revised. Should be this coming week I think. We did a Michaels Online Workshop where all the participants got the preliminary pattern with the errors, so the errors were mentioned in this blog so they have a reference point to make the correction.

      1. I had the same problem so thank you Amy K for asking the question! I’ll be on the lookout for it in a week or so. You have so many lovely patterns that I have petitioned the man upstairs for 30 more years of life in order to complete everything I want to do! In fact, if they ever come out with an android that you can put your consciousness into, I’m getting me one!
