Sweetie Dresses

This super adorable baby dress comes in 4 sizes. Pattern includes 6, 12, 18 and 24 months’ instructions. I have found the instructions super easy to follow without any difficulties. Don’t let the pattern instructions intimidate you. There are many paragraphs on this instruction that only apply to certain sizes. When you narrow down your instructions to the size you want, you will quickly realize that many instruction lines aren’t even used.

This dress was been designed by Kristen Stoltzfus. It’s an adorable dress to work up if you know someone who is expecting a little one.

The yarn is James C Brett Baby Marble. This yarn is only found in independent retailers and is absolutely fabulous. You will need a minimum of 2 balls to complete this pattern.

Don’t be afraid to adjust the length of this dress. If you want to make it longer, wait for the 2nd half of the skirt instructions where the V-Stitch is larger. Then make your skirt longer on this level before doing the final edging at the bottom.

In the video tutorial, I demonstrate the 6-month version but give help on all other sizes to be able to follow the instructions. Once you see how we are growing the baby sweater, venturing on your own for the 9, 12 and 18-month sizes are a breeze.

You can use Red Heart Soft Baby Steps, Red Heart Gumdrop or even James C Brett’s Baby Marble. Either way, you will have an amazing dress.

The sizes are way off. I’m half way threw the 18 month and it’s big enough for a 3 year old.

Love it! Thank you for making it so easy to understand. Do you have one for bigger sizes for a 6 and 8 year old?

Wonderful tutorial!!! Thank you!!! I have been trying to locate a pattern (not sure if one actually exists) for a woman’s size summer top, usually to be worn over a tank top or bathing suit. I saw a tutorial on you tube (it is no longer available/viewable). Being a beginner, the arm holes confused me to no end, so I was not able to complete it. It is the exact same style as this adorable baby dress. In my beginner’s frame of mind, I just need to make this dress a woman’s size small to accomplish what I want, which is to finally crochet the bathing suit cover that I promised my adult daughter last year. Can you please help me/show me how to convert this to a woman’s size? Or what ever I need to do. Thank you big bunches!!!!!

I have been crocheting for over 40 years on and off. I also knit. It not as much. I teach both at Michaels craft store in Walker Michigan. Any ideas and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Carol
