Women’s Peak Hat

Crochet this Women’s Peak Hat crochet design. I was compelled by the brim and button to grab my attention. I was then looking at the stitches above the brim and absolutely adore the texture of this hat.

This hat can be dressed up or even just casual use. I think it’s a really great design.

Get this free pattern, it’s called the Women’s Peak Hat.

    Hi Mikey!
This is going to be one of those someone asks you a question about what they did wrong in the hopes that you magically will know the exact answer…Fingers crossed the magic is real.
I was almost all the way done with this hat (all the way to where the brim portion starts) and thought I’d try it on because it seemed small. I couldn’t even get it on my head (no, I do not have an abnormally large head). My guage seemed accurate and I’m 90% certain I was using #4 yarn. Also, my hat seemed to be more conical then yours in your video, even from the beginning it seemed to want to turn into a bowl where yours laid flatter.
I know I’ve done something wrong, but I can’t figure it out! Any thoughts?? I’ve totally pulled it and am going to make a second attempt, but any ideas you have would be welcome!

I would increase your hook Sandra. As we begin to crochet a project, we can tense up or relax. Though your gauge worked when you started, you may have altered your tension without knowing. If your project is too small. Just increase your hook size. That’s what I would do.

        Thanks! I’ll give that a try 🙂

Dianna, we only offer free patterns and they are clickable in the article itself. I’m sorry, I don’t send out the actual samples themselves.

Your patterns only come via a video tutorial? I am “old school” and need a written pattern. No way can I sit in front of my computer watching a video and crochet at the same time. = )

No… all are generally written up. Only select is done as a written pattern. Why do you ask? There is a link to the free pattern in this article.

    Hello,

I can’t seem to get the 5th round right, I keep ending up with way too many stitches. As I read the pattern, i think I’m to do 1 dcfp, 1 DC, 1 dcfp, 2 DC and repeat. Any idea as to what I may be doing to get all those extra stitches? I am still fairly new to crochet and while I have the basic stitches down pat, I struggle with structured patterns and am.challenging myself a little with this intermediate pattern.

Thank you and I too really appreciate the left handed tutorials. There are not a lot of really good left handed ones and yours are a goldmine!

    Sincerely,
    Pamela Postma

Thanks Lina… I will be looking at more beginner projects. We do have them, even for a hat but I probably haven’t clearly labelled them. Sorry about that.

I like the women’s peak hat, but could that be made without the peak? Would love the pattern without beak. Maggie. [email protected]

I found this pattern last year and have made 2 of these hats. One for a friend and one for me. I can’t wait for winter so that I can wear this hat again! I taught myself the stitches via video clips and i’m left handed…so if I can do it watching a right handed tutorial, anyone can! Lovely and warm too as it covers the ears nicely 🙂
